Why I Became a Lactation Consultant
While working at Prentice, a Level III hospital in downtown Chicago, Sara saw firsthand how deeply feeding challenges can shape a family's experience of early parenthood - from difficult latches and low milk supply to NICU transitions and complex feeding challenges. She became an IBCLC because she believes families deserve more than quick advice or a one-size-fits-all approach. Sara believes there is no single "right" way to feed a baby. Parents deserve someone who listens, understands the whole picture, and brings the expertise to help them find a plan that works for their baby and family - providing the knowledge, support, and confidence to make informed choices that honor their goals and well-being.

My Favorite Part of Being an IBCLC
My favorite part of being an IBCLC is watching a parent go from "I don't know if I can do this" to "Okay...we've got this." She loves helping families turn overwhelming feeding challenges into practical, manageable solutions - whether that means improving a painful latch, troubleshooting low supply, developing a pumping plan, navigating breast surgery or complex medical histories, getting comfortable with bottle feeding, or simply reassuring a parent that their baby is feeding well. Most importantly, she values getting to know the person behind the feeding challenge. Feeding can carry so much emotion, and Sara wants every family to feel heard, understood, and supported. For her, the most rewarding moments are when a parent leaves feeling not only more confident in feeding, but more confident in themselves.

What Families Can Expect Working with Me
Families can expect personalized, evidence-based care without judgment or pressure. Sara takes the time to understand the whole picture and create a plan that fits your baby, your body, your goals, and your life - not what feeding "should" look like. Her support doesn't end when the session does. She follows up, helps troubleshoot as things evolve, and adjusts the plan when needed. As a PMH-C provider, Sara understands that your mental and emotional well-being matter just as much as your baby's feeding goals. You don't have to figure it out alone. Sara is here with the expertise, reassurance, and encouragement to help you feel confident moving forward.

A Little About Me
Sara is a Certified Maternal Newborn Nurse who began her lactation career at Prentice before expanding into outpatient care after seeing how important ongoing support is for families beyond the hospital. She has always loved being part of the bigger picture of a family's transition into parenthood and is passionate about creating thoughtful, connected care. Her areas of expertise include milk supply concerns, pumping, bottle feeding, infant oral function, NICU support, breast surgery, complex medical histories, plugged ducts, mastitis, and more. She also enjoys collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure families receive comprehensive support. Outside of work, Sara and her family love working out, traveling, exploring new places, and trying great food. She also speaks fluent Romanian! Most importantly, Sara wants to be your cheerleader - celebrating your wins, supporting you through the hard days, and reminding you that you're never alone.
